On Ipswich Star He said: “As a Suffolk boy, it has been the greatest honour to represent a town I have known and cared about since I was a child. I am proud of what we have done in the last seven years to help Ipswich begin to become the town it deserves to be.
“That vision has only begun to be realized because I was able to work with some dedicated and passionate people, who care as deeply as I do about the future of Ipswich.
“The new opportunities that we have gained for Ipswich have been extremely hard-won and I could not have achieved these without their help and support. I want to thank them and wish them well in delivering the projects we have embarked upon.
“I am grateful too, beyond words, to my fellow Conservatives, for giving me their enthusiasm, company and love in the 10 years I was their candidate. They are committed public servants and deserve more thanks than they get.
“Finally, I would like to thank the people of Ipswich, who elected me twice and gave me the opportunity to serve them and the nation. I have learned more from being their representative than in anything else I have done, and so it is with gratitude as well as immense pride that I say goodbye, and good luck.”
Goodbye and Good luck? If he cared so much about the town he wouldn’t allow a minor technicality of not getting a healthy salary, get in his way to make that difference. He worked hard before being an MP to earn residents trust and respect; because now he couldn’t get his way to realise (Ben turn the spell checker off US English!) his vanity projects, he is calling it a day, turning his back on the town.
Good riddance. As he waves good bye with his middle finger extended with that bitter hate and anger he couldn’t hide from his replacement for all to see on live TV, the residents have a message for him too to take back… fuck off Ben, we don’t need you! You were a shit MP and your manifesto almost lost your party power. You may eye up a safe seat in a by-election or future General Election but your name has gone down in history as the person who almost sunk the Conservatives out of power. With a coalition following an hung parliament your party could well struggle with damage, not so dissimilar to Labour previously.
Just to reiterate, it is your loss Ben. A rising star in Conservative Party ranks, you have screwed up everything. You are the scapegoat when the shit hits the fan. Ipswich has gained from your absence. Good Luck on your new job.
